Green Synthesis of Heterogeneous Visible-Light-Active Photocatalysts: Recent Advances

The exploitation of visible-light active photocatalytic materials can potentially change the supply energy and deeply transform our world, giving access to a carbon neutral society. Currently, most photocatalysts are produced through low-ecofriendly, dispersive, fossil-based synthesis. Over last few years, research has focused on development innovative heterogeneous by design sustainable green synthetic approaches. These strategies range from use plant extracts, valorization recycling metals inside industrial sludges or solventless techniques elaboration mild-reaction condition tools. This mini-review highlights progresses in visible-light-active based two different approaches: methodologies biomass waste as sources chemicals embedded final photoactive materials.
